The Consolidated Text of the 1986 Master Plan was published on April 30, 2018. The Urban Planning Regulations that govern the 1986 Master Plan (PGOU) were published on July 3, 2018. The Adaptation of the 1986 Master Plan to the Andalusian Urban Planning Law (LOUA) was approved by a Plenary Meeting of the Town Council on July 27, 2018.

A Town Hall Plenary Meeting granted final approval on December 22, 2010 to a partial adjustment of the Estepona Master Plan to meet the requirements of the Andalusian Spatial Planning Regulations. This was published in the Official Gazette of the Malaga Province No. 115 on June 17, 2011.

The review of the Fuengirola Master Plan (Plan General) was approved through a resolution of the Provincial Town and Country Planning Committee on February 22, 2011 and was published in the Official Gazette of the Andalusian government (BOJA) No. 77 dated April 19, 2011.

After the Partial Adaptation to the Andalusian Urban Planning Law (LOUA) was finally approved by a resolution of a Plenary Session of the Town Council on March 26, 2010 and was published in Official Provincial Gazette number 18 on January 27, 2011, the Consolidated Text of the Master Plan (PGOU) was promulgated in the year 2013.

The Town Council in full session granted final approval to the Partial Adaptation of its Master Plan to the Andalusian Planning Laws on February 10, 2012. It was published in the Official Gazette of the Malaga Province number 95 on May 18, 2012.

A new Master Plan is being currently prepared for the purpose of adapting the text to the Andalusian Planning Regulations (LOUA). The previous versions as the Preliminary draft, First Initial Approval, Second Initial Approval, Provisional Approval and Ratification of the Provisional Approval are currently pending, awaiting completion of corrections for the purpose of adapting them to the parameters of the Andalusian Planning Regulations.

This was published in the Official Gazette of the Malaga Province No. 30 on February 14, 2011.
