On 4 December, the members of Mintegui Abogados attended the training session organised by the Marbella Delegation of the Málaga Bar Association, aimed at practitioners who regularly participate in real estate conveyancing transactions on the Costa del Sol and who increasingly work with clients of foreign nationality.

The session addressed the importance of accurately identifying the applicable matrimonial property regime when international elements are involved, as this is a determining factor in establishing who holds title to the property, who is legally entitled to dispose of it, and how the transaction must be documented in order to avoid future disputes.

During the training, the speakers analysed, from a practical standpoint, the key issues that practitioners must review before, during and after the conveyance when the parties are subject to foreign legal systems, with the aim of ensuring the legal validity of the transaction, minimising risks, and securing its registration with the Land Registry.

The session featured the participation of José Ordoñez Cuadros, Notary of Marbella, and Javier Gómez Galligo, Property Registrar and former Director-General of Registries and Notaries.
